About Us
Welcome to AmitΔbha Studio!
Our Story
One winter evening in Amsterdam, we were talking with a friend about lighting and how much it affects mood, especially during those long, dark Dutch winters. Looking around our own home, we realized we needed more light.
We searched Amsterdam's antique markets and design shops but couldn't find lamps that felt rightβpieces with character and history that still worked in a contemporary home.
So we made our own. We found an antique Delft vase, paired it with a bold red shade, and wired it ourselves. That first lamp changed everything. It wasn't just about light anymore. It was about transformationβtaking something with history and giving it new life.
That's still what we do today, one lamp at a time.
Founded in Amsterdam in 2021, AmitΔbha Studio (Sanskrit for "limitless light") relocated to Sitges on the Mediterranean coast near Barcelona in 2025. Dutch Delft remains at the heart of our collection, but our work now reflects the ceramic traditions of both our adopted homes. Just as Delft revealed the Netherlands to usβits history, its characterβSpanish ceramics are now teaching us about Spain. We've discovered that understanding a country through its artisan traditions reveals something essential about its spirit.

Co-Founder & Master Craftsman
Davide is a craftsman and artist with formal training in fine arts and architecture along with art history at the Liceo Artistico in Treviso and Ca' Foscari University of Venice. Growing up near Venice instilled in him a deep appreciation for traditional craftsmanship and the marriage of art with everyday life. His technical expertise transforms delicate ceramics into fully functional lighting using reversible techniques that honor their historical integrity, ensuring each piece could one day return to its original form. When not in the studio, he's likely playing music or cookingβbecause he's Italian, after all.
