Royal Delft Vintage Blue and White Ceramic Table Lamp — Sylvie

€1,390.00

Meet Sylvie! A one-of-a-kind vintage ceramic table lamp handcrafted from a 1971 Royal Delft ginger jar, hand-painted with densely layered florals in the classic Dutch blue-and-white tradition, and paired with a new tailored drum lampshade in pistachio green silk, trimmed with grosgrain ribbon by Houlès of Paris.

Fitted with custom-cut brass, newly wired without altering the original ceramic, and finished with a navy fabric-wrapped cord. The plug will be adapted for your destination country at no extra charge.

The lamp base carries the full Royal Delft factory mark: the De Porceleyne Fles bottle symbol, the conjoined JT initials of founder Joost Thooft, the painter's initials, and the 1971 date code CP. Every hand-painted piece produced at the factory since 1879 carries all four, which is what distinguishes an authentic Royal Delft object from the many imitations, and what makes it traceable to a specific painter in a specific year.

The blue and green are perfect harmonious partners that make this lamp work beautifully in many interior styles, as at home in grandmillennial homes as well as in coastal ones.

Height: 48 cm (18.9 in) including lampshade
Diameter: 30 cm (11.8 in) including lampshade

At checkout, 21% VAT will be applied for customers within Europe. Customers in other countries may be subject to local taxes and duties; we recommend checking with your local customs office. About Royal Delft

Founded in Delft in 1653 as De Porceleyne Fles, Royal Delft is the only surviving factory from the city's original golden age of ceramic production. Where dozens of Delftware manufacturers once operated, De Porceleyne Fles alone has maintained continuous production through to the present day, preserving hand-painting techniques largely unchanged over three and a half centuries.
