Meet Aurelia, a large vintage table lamp meticulously handcrafted by Amitābha Studio from an exceptional 1953 Royal Delft (De Porceleyne Fles) vase bearing the 1653–1953 jubilee mark. Created to commemorate Royal Delft’s 300th anniversary, this ribbed baluster form in crisp Delft blue and white brings genuine mid-century Dutch artistry into the present day as a statement-making table lamp in spirit and presence—made for collectors who seek unique table lamps, not generic décor.

The glazed earthenware body is hand-painted in cobalt blues with an abundant Chinoiserie-inspired scene: a lush flowering canopy spreads across the rounded shoulder while birds animate the composition below, all anchored by rhythmic border motifs at the neck and foot. The result is a richly narrative Delft-style lamp.

Finished with a new saffron yellow pleated silk lampshade, Aurelia becomes a deliberate study in contrast: the cool precision of Delft Blue against the warm, golden glow of silk. The pleating adds texture and architectural line, enhancing the lamp’s verticality.

De Porceleyne Fles, later given the distinction of Koninklijke or Royal, known now as Royal Delft, is a Dutch manufacturer of Delft Blue pottery, or Delfts Blauw aardewerk, headquartered in Delft, the Netherlands. It is the only remaining ceramics factory out of 32 that were established in Delft during the 17th century. Founded in 1653, it has been active for over 360 years without interruption. Royal Delft is not only the oldest surviving producer of Delftware, but one that is highly respected for its artistry. The motifs on Delft Blue ceramics find their roots in the Chinese porcelain from the Ming and K‟ang Hsi dynasties.
